William Goldman एक अमेरिकी उपन्यासकार, नाटककार और पटकथा लेखक थे। पटकथा लेखन की ओर रुख करने से पहले वे पहली बार 1950 के दशक में एक उपन्यासकार के रूप में प्रसिद्ध हुए।

उन्होंने अपनी पटकथा के लिए दो अकादमी पुरस्कार जीते, पहला पश्चिमी बुच कैसिडी और द सनडांस किड (1969) के लिए और फिर ऑल द प्रेसिडेंट मेन (1976) के लिए। 

विलियम गोल्डमैन का जन्म 12 August 1931 को शिकागो, इलिनोइस , अमेरिका में तथा मृत्यु 16 November 2018 को नहट्टन, न्यूयॉर्क , यूएस में हुआ था।
